Scroll Speed Parallax

Image 60

The scroll speed in Framer can be adjusted to simulate various scrolling effects, such as parallax or faster-than-normal scrolling, which can be particularly useful for showcasing certain elements or creating engaging storytelling experiences within your design.

  • Set the Desktop's Padding Bottom to 1000. This allows us to test the scrolling experience, even without a lot of content.
  • Select the 4 elements inside UI and create Effects → Scroll Speed.
  • Set the Speed to 110%.
  • To create the parallax effect, it's good to have multiple elements with different speeds. Elements in front should move fast than elements in the back.
  • Set the Scroll Speed of Browse App: 110%, Main Card: 115%, Score and Progress Ring: 120%.

Scroll Transform in Framer

Transforms allow you to apply opacity, 2D rotation, 3D rotation, scaling, and offset to your elements, enabling more intricate animations and effects.

  • Select the 3 columns in Browse App → Content.
  • Add a Scroll Transform Effect.
  • Set Opacity 0.5, Scale 0.9, 3D X 10.
  • Add a Transition (Spring default) and click on From Effect.

Import Steps Section from Figma

Image 61

Let's do a second round of important the UI from Figma. This time we'll import the entire section and see what issues will arise.

  • Go to Figma and select the Steps Frame and Copy to HTML using the plugin.
  • In Framer, select the Desktop and Paste.
  • Set the Desktop to a width of 1440 to accomodate the size.

Scroll Animation

Scroll animation in Framer allows you to trigger animations as the user scrolls through the page. This can be used to create dynamic and engaging effects in your designs. By setting scroll triggers on specific elements, you can control animations such as opacity changes, rotations, scaling, and offsets. This feature adds another level of interactivity and realism to your prototypes, making them feel more like a final product.

Scroll Animation is very similar to Appear, except that it will active when the element is visible during scroll.

  • Select Content in Steps.
  • Add Scroll Animation.
  • Go to Enter, set Opacity 1, Scale 1, Rotate 3D X 10, Offset Y -100.
  • Add Ease In Out transition, Time 1.
  • Select the 3 columns in the content in Flight UI → UI.
  • Add a Scroll Animation.
  • Set Trigger to Layer in View.
  • Set Enter to Opacity 0, Scale 1, Offset Y 50.
  • Add Ease In Out transition with delay 0.1 for element 1, 0.2 for 2, 0.3 for 3.

More Scroll Transforms

Image 62

  • Select the UI and Score inside Flight UI.
  • Set the Trigger to Layer in View. This can be a better fit if you have a tall container.
  • Add a Transition (Spring default) and click on From Effect.
  • Set Opacity 1, Scale 0.9, 3D X 10.
  • Switch to select only the Score and change the Scale to 0.8, X to 20, Offset X to 50.
  • Add a Scroll Transform Effect.

Layout Fixes

  • Blur in buttons: Select the menu button and set the Blur to 0. Also remove shadows.
  • Absolute Position in Stack: Select the double arrows circle and set the position absolutely and center.
  • For Wraping layouts, set the Wrap to Yes and for inner elements, set the Width to 150.
  • For Icons, use Copy as SVG and paste to Framer one by one.
  • Select the Steps section and set the Overflow to Visible.

Adaptive Layout for Steps Section

Image 63

  • Set the Steps to Stack, Vertical, Padding 140, 100, 140, 100, Align Left, Overflow Visible. For Tablet: Padding Left and Right 40, Mobile: Padding Left and Right 20.
  • Set the Blur to Constraints Absolute, Center.
  • Set the Flight UI to Constraints Absolute, Left 750. Mobile: Overflow Hidden.
  • Set the Title font size for Mobile to 44.
  • Set the Content Width to Fill, Max Width 580.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Framer provides advanced features like scroll speed adjustment, transforms, variants, sticky headers, and scroll animations that can enhance the realism and interactivity of your interactive sites.

  • Remember to adjust the scroll speed in Framer to simulate different scrolling effects.
  • Experiment with different scroll speed values for elements in the front and back to create a parallax effect.
  • Import UI elements from Figma and customize them in Framer, paying attention to details such as blur and absolute positioning.
  • Utilize adaptive layouts for different device sizes to ensure a responsive design.
  • Use scroll transforms to apply animations and effects like opacity, rotation, scaling, and offset to elements.
  • Explore the sticky header feature to create fixed elements that remain in a specific position while scrolling.
  • Take advantage of scroll variants to switch between different component states as the user scrolls.
  • Use scroll animations to trigger dynamic and engaging effects as the user scrolls through the page.
  • Experiment with different transition settings to achieve the desired animation effects.
