FAQ Section
Let's start by adding a new Section. Select Body and add a new Section to it. Rename the Section to FAQ. Give it a margin-top and a margin-bottom of 100. Set padding-top as well as padding-bottom to 100. Set Background5.svg as the background-image for the section. Set the image's width to Auto, Position it to top-right and add -20% as the top value.
FAQ Content
Select FAQ and insert a new Container in it. Set Align to Center in Typography. For title, we'll copy the one from Content Block in Place Container. Rename the Heading 2 there to Title, copy and paste it in the Container in FAQ. Rename the Container to FAQ Container. Change the text to Frequently Asked Questions.
CMS Content
To add CMS Content, select FAQ Container, press A and select Collection List under CMS.
Creating Collection
Click on CMS in the sidebar and then on the blue button to create a new collection. Enter FAQ as the collection name. In Collection Fields, enter Question in the Name input field. To add a new field for Answer, click on '+ Add Field' and select Rich Text. Rename the field to Answer and check the 'This field is required' option.
Adding FAQs
Now, let's add some FAQs. Click on the '+New FAQ' button on the right. Add the question text and then add the answer text to the respective fields. Rich text allows us to style any part of the input field. For example, you can add a link that directly opens the email client. Add another FAQ by following the same steps.
Source
Go ahead and connect the Collection List to the FAQs we just added. To do so, click on Source and then choose FAQ under CMS Collections.
UI
Let's add styling to our Collection List. Click on Collection List and select Collection Item. Press A and add a new Div Block to it. Set the background-color to white and the border-radius to 40. Add a box-shadow, set the Angle to 180, Distance to 20, Blur to 40 and A in color to 15%. Give it a margin-top & bottom of 40 and for left & right, set it 20. Set padding to 40 on all sides except padding-top, set that to 20.
Text
Add a Heading element and set it to H3. Check the 'Get Text from...' option and choose the Question field. Set the Heading color to #201e44 and weight to Semi Bold. Now, let's add the answers. Press A and because our content type was Rich Text, select Rich Text under Typography. Follow the same steps to get the Answers from the CMS. Set the font-size for Answers to 18, set its height to 30 and the color to #6C6A8E.
Customizing Links
To customize links, add a new Link element. In Selector, choose All Links. Now, change the font-color to #6236FF. This gets applied to the links in the Rick Text. Go ahead and remove the link elements since we don't need those anymore.
Styling FAQ Text
Select Div Block 3 and align the item to the left. Give it a max-width of 700 so that it stays adaptive. Now, select Collection Item and set Display to Flex. Set Justify to Center. Lastly, change the top and bottom-margin to 20.
Conclusion
In this section, we learned about implementing CMS, adding data and retrieving it. In the next section, we'll learn how to use Symbols so that we can reuse elements across multiple pages. See you there!
